"Diamond-cut" is one of the most asked-about words in gold chains. Here is what it means.
Does a diamond-cut chain have diamonds?
No. A diamond-cut chain has no stones. The name comes from how the gold is cut.
What does diamond-cut mean?
Small flat faces are cut into the gold links with a special tool, a bit like the faces on a cut diamond. These flat faces catch the light and make the chain sparkle more than a plain, smooth chain.
Diamond-cut vs regular
| Diamond-cut | Regular (polished) | |
|---|---|---|
| Look | Sparkles and flashes in the light | Smooth, soft shine |
| Stones | None | None |
| Best for | Standing out | A classic, low-key look |
